I recently came across the very cool Topaz and Arrow workshops held in D.C. by founders Virginia Arrisueño and Morgan Hungerford West. The workshops have been held monthly at the Ulysses Room, a loft space at the 52 O Street Artist Studios, in Washington, D.C.
This is a great opportunity for visual merchandisers, aspiring stylists, and folks that just like to "make stuff" to learn from pros. Virginia is founder of DeNada and a University of Maryland grad with a fiber art focus. Her creative talent and technical skills have been recognized by several awards, including the Sadat Art for Peace Award, delivered by Nelson Mandela, as well as, first prize in Viridian Artists, Inc. National Competition.
Morgan, the other half of Topaz and Arrow, writes art and lifestyle blog Panda Head, and works in the realms of art direction and art production in Washington, DC. Her installations have been featured at the French Embassy and the Textile Museum; her line of handmade teepees and teepee covers is carried by BHLDN
October's workshop, Curation, Backdrops, and Filters:A Photo Styling Workshop with Topaz + Arrow, will take place on Sunday, October 27, 2013 1pm-3pm.
